FORENSIC ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Mr. Lee has extensive experience as a forensic accountant, using auditing and investigating skills to analyze, summarize and present complex financial transactions in a manner that is readily understood and properly supported.

He has performed forensic accounting in complicated partnership dissolutions and lease terminations, and he has conducted reviews to uncover fraud, determine the viability of financially stressed operations, and identify where cash and assets are being used. He has been deposed and has testified in arbitration and court hearings.

Forensic Accounting Projects

Investigated multi-million dollar land fraud in connection with a land lease for a nuclear power plant in California.
 
Reviewed the financial viability of a major international contractor in Houston, TX for a consortium of banks and sureties.
 
Assisted a part owner of an asbestos removal company determine amounts due after termination of his employment.
 
Prepared a claim and testified in arbitration for a co-owner of a marina in East Boston.
 
Assisted a real estate partnership to defend against a claim brought by a receiver of a bankrupt credit union.
 
Testified in court about inadequate initial capitalization and utilization of cash in an insolvent affiliate to a solvent general contractor for a hotel on Block Island, RI.
 
Worked with a turnpike authority determine amounts due under a lease for termination of a fire damaged roadside restaurant.
 
Assisted the owner of an office building to determine amounts due under a complicated lease termination agreement.
 
Helped a manufacturer of large industrial washers and driers defend against a claim for direct damages and lost profits attributable to non-performance.
 
Assisted a Transportation Department review and analyze operating revenues and expenses of a private railroad lessee.
 
Analyzed repair/capitalization costs incurred by an owner to determine reasonable pass through operating expenses to a lessee.
 
Analyzed partnership tax returns and the accounting records for partner loans and contributions in a dispute over a Rhode Island marina where there was no signed partnership agreement.
 
Assisted a title company track down financial discrepancies in closings.
 
Investigated and analyzed embezzlement losses at a general contractor.
 
Analyzed financial activities and testified in a civil wrongful death trial.
